About Ester

關於我

Ester Lo is a creative technologist and AI automation specialist working at the intersection of advanced manufacturing, architecture, and construction. With a master's degree in digital manufacturing from the University of Michigan and years of hands-on experience inside US-based fabrication and construction companies, she builds AI and automation systems that help businesses work smarter — from the shop floor to the back office.

EXPERIENCE

Eastern Millwork, Automation Systems Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer

Jersey City, USA, 2025 - present

Leading business intelligence automation and AI adoption across departments. Built an ERP system using SharePoint, Power Automate, Power Apps, and Power BI to support operations management. Developed custom internal applications using ASP.NET (C#), JavaScript, and SQL to address workflows that off-the-shelf tools could not cover. Integrated AI tools including Microsoft Copilot, Claude, and GitHub Copilot into team workflows. Migrated version control infrastructure from Team Foundation Server to GitHub.

Eventscape, Advanced Manufacturing Design Engineer

New York, USA, 2022 - 2024

R&D engineer responsible for establishing the company's robotic fabrication lab, including hardware and software setup for two Kuka industrial robots configured for large-scale CNC machining and 3D printing with recycled plastic and low-carbon concrete. Led material exploration and machining parameter development for novel fabrication applications. Developed C# automation scripts to streamline the digital workflow between Rhino and PowerMill, including automated 3D model export and toolpath generation. Represented Eventscape in academic-industry collaborations with the University of Pennsylvania and other notable architecture firms, translating design intent into executable manufacturing plans and ensuring production efficiency across complex fabrication projects.

Quarra Stone Company, QLab Design Engineer

Madison, USA, 2019 - 2022

Design engineer at a specialized stone digital fabrication company, responsible for translating architectural designs into manufacturable plans for CNC machining with large-scale industrial robotic arms. Used Rhino and Grasshopper for design assist, client quoting, and production planning. Contributed to workflow optimization and cost reduction across fabrication processes. Developed C# automation scripts to streamline the Rhino-to-PowerMill pipeline — a method later brought to and expanded at Eventscape. Led a robotic automation project replacing a repetitive manual color-application process, an early application of robotics to eliminate low-value human labor.

Eastern Millwork,

Eventscape,

Quarra Stone Company,QLab
